Tango dancers also exude passion and overt sexuality and the steps and shapes are different, but no less exciting visually and I have recently completed a collection called 'It Takes Two to Tango.'
The originals are oil paintings, photographed by David Stokes Photography, and produced as limited edition, fine art prints.
I am extremely fortunate to have a 'gallery' for my original work at Restaurante La Herradura in Los Montesinos, near Torrevieja here on the Costa Blanca. Prints are also available there, as well as from Restaurante Catorce in Benijofar.
All of my work is available to buy directly from me via my secure on-line store (see link above), or from the current two outlets.
If you would like to contact me please go to the Contact Me page. I will be pleased to hear from you, and will respond as soon as I am able.
I am an artist and art teacher, living and working in Spain, where I 'retired' with my husband, David in 2002.
Many of my paintings are of dancers, a subject that has always fascinated me, because I love the shapes dancers make when they are lost in the music and each other. Flamenco of course, is a hugely important part of Spanish culture, and most towns have a dance school dedicated to teaching even tiny children this passionate and exciting art.
The costumes are infinitely varied, some with ruffles, some with layers of skirts - and then you can add castanets, fans and hats - and of course the music makes your heart race and your feet tap.
